I got a FEVER for some SWINE! And the only cure is MORE BBQ!

This fantastic Carter and Sons BBQ commercial had a great premise that I think was slightly ruined with the overuse of voiceover. The constant explaining following each joke seems to take away from the great delivery by Bobby Moynihan. A simple note at the beginging from the company explaing regret followed by the whole commercial uninterrupted would have been perfect. Still catchy enough to be stuck in my head all day…..SWIIIINE FEVER :)

The Internets agree. Mexican accents funnier than Norwegian.

I know it’s a bit in violation of the rules of this site (“Only the Funny SNL skits!”) but I had to comment on this mildly funny Norwegian playhouse skit simply because it reminded me of one of my favorite “it’s funny because they speak another language” skits. While the Norwegian Cop Show skit has it’s moments, thanks mostly to Fred Armisen’s hilarious accent (“I’m getting very cross with youuuuu”), the “La Policia” skit hits a homerun with the grade level Spanish that most kids learn in elementary school and then run home to use in hopes of sounding impressive.

“La Bomba esta en la Biblioteca” indeed :)

La Policia

Some skits get funny after repeat viewings. Example: Gilly

Kristen Wiig continues to be one of the best on SNL mostly because she doesn’t stare at cue cards all night but also because she doesn’t latch onto one character idea and beat it into the ground. “Gilly” was a fresh idea that didn’t make me laugh much at first but after repeat viewings, is starting to grow on me….”Sorry” :)
And that new guy (Bobby Moynihan) is such a dead ringer for a young Artie Lange. I’m just gonna pretend he is so maybe I’ll laugh more.

Oh and Will Forte is brilliant. That is all.
